Barbara has been a BAS qualified fleece and halter judge since 2017 and has had the privilege of judging in many European countries. Having already judged two of the largest halter shows in the UK in 2022 she will be co-judging the largest fleece show in Europe in the autumn, as well as travelling to judge in Norway, Germany and Italy.

When not judging Barbara enjoys sharing her knowledge and has held workshops in person and via Zoom. She has also tutored on behalf of the British alpaca Society since 2021.

Barbara is a co-owner of Beck Brow Alpacas based in Northern England. This successful and highly regarded stud farm has grown quickly from an initial purchase of four females in 2008 to a herd of approximately 200. The herd has been highly rewarded on the show circuit culminating in winning the BAS National Halter and Fleece Supreme Championships in 2022.

The farm is a family run business with husband Paul and son-in-law Craig being partners and working full time with the herd.

Barbara is a former Critical Care Nursing Sister giving her a good knowledge base when caring for the health and welfare of her alpacas. It also provided her skills to work as a member of a team and she has been part of the BAS National Show Committee since 2013 as well as organising local shows and being Chair of a BAS Regional Group.
